Time at Alphington Interviews With Rikki And Kosta

  1. How long have you guys been at Alphington for?

R: It’s been 13 years since my time at Alphington

K: I have been at Alphington since prep so almost 13 years

  1. What is the greatest memory you have made whilst at your time at Alphington?

R: There are two main memories. In primary school there were trees around the oval and we would dig them and, we called it “ant city” then the second would be when we used to play downball in year 10 and it was called ‘IDC’ every recess and lunch. We used to get angry at each other, so much so I smashed my phone when someone got me out. There were also the concerts we used to do. There was something special that happened every year.

K: Probably the overseas trip in year 9. I was with all my friends overseas and I got to bond with teachers. It’s probably the fondest memory I have had since my time here. I got much closer with people such as Aiden and the older kids, mainly the boys. My favourite part was the overnight train in China because crazy things happen, we spent ten hours just talking and it was the first bonding moment of the trip.

  1. What is one thing the school has done for you that you will forever be grateful for?

R: From year 4 I have always been given the opportunity to use my leadership skills and express them. From the first time when I was Cinderella in the year 4 concert and now, when I became sports captain in year 12

K: Give me friends that I will take through my entire life and will be there for me the entire life. It’s also given me an education. I’m grateful for the friends I have made here and the teachers I have met, especially Silver

  1. What are some things you are doing now that you are in Year 12?

R: I play soccer and I coach it as well. I also do the VCE Plus Program. I study Business at LaTrobe Uni.

K: I play footsal on Fridays with some of my friends, but mostly just studying. It’s not much relax time but it’s worth it.

  1. What are your plans for the future?

R: I have so many plans but I’m not sure yet. I want to study law and commerce at LaTrobe and I will have a big family and one day I hope to bring my kids to Alphington. Hopefully they don’t beat my swimming records though!

K: I want to go to uni, I’m not sure which one and during or after Uni I want to travel around Europe, visit my family in Greece and explore the world. I have been here for so long it’s good to explore every once in a while

  1. Will you miss your time at Alphington?

R: I have already cried at least thirty times about missing my time at Alphington. I will miss the students and teachers. I will never forget any of it and I will definitely come back to visit everyone. Hopefully we can have a five and ten-year reunion so I can see my graduating class once again.

K: I will definitely miss my time at Alphington. Maybe not the stress of year 12 but the people I have met and the friends I have made. I’ll miss the grounds, considering I have seen them for 13 years now and I’ll especially be sad on the last day but it’s good memories I am taking with me for the rest of my life.
